I think I know the movie you are wanting to find. It was called Mildred Pierce The Essentials. I remember it because her daughter was called Veda. It was Joan Crawford. Hope this is correct.

I just placed a set of Christmas white lights on a table and put a Pyrex clear glass 9 X 13 dish over it and it works great for small projects. No cost involved!!
