    We use sheets for backing on our charity quilts - as I am not crazy about white, I use Ritt dye and twist and rubber band each sheet. Gives a tie dyed look and many can be 'done' at the same time...

    if you have yards of fabric to store and want to see some of it - cut the bolt "paper" insert in half, fold fabric in half - rewind onto the the half bolt insert. Much easier to store in that size

    I have found that if I put in a light poly batt and use a flannel backing, the quilt is the coziest one that all grab for when hanging around. good luck
