i agree just get a matching material if you can...
i agree just get a matching material if you can and hand sew it together with your older material i wouldnt worry about alot of batting i would just use material to bind it together

i wonder if she used tri chem paint? if she did that paint lasts forever i too wonder why the daughters didnt care to keep their mothers blocks to make a quilt for their family to hand down i guess...
