    You have to plan and lay out the 1/2 hexagons. Every other half is rotated upside down. That is how you avoid the Y seams.

    Thank you, this is a great lesson. I was hoping there was a way to machine stitch the blocks together. My blocks will be fussy cut, and about 6 inches across. Thank you, Gail
