Well, to answer myslef, I did find a blue 347 on ebay! I'm guessing the B in my sisters note was a typo.

I dont have a blue machine :)

I think the idea behind the #9 is that the WOF would still allow us to do 3 across. Doing 3 down would give us 9. If we do 10 we would have to buy that extra 11" so we might as well do 12. Mulitiples...
