You cut one triangle using two pieces of fabric and sew together and turn. Lay flat and pull up the 3 points together and you will see how it is sewn at the bottom. Pin and sew the bottom side edges...

I use the Schemetz HLX5 needle and have no problem. Be sure the flat side of the needle is next to screw. This is the needle that came with the machine.
