Your machine is older than mine as my patent dates run from Jan 18.87 through May 26.96. The pictures look exactly like mine except mine has a spring belt. There are no markings on the bobbin case....

If I were looking for heavy duty I'd be looking at the older Singers or something along that line. A lot of the inexpensive newer machines are not what I would call heavy duty.
