Wow, you can color me jealous of that machine! Doesn't matter how many you have, when THAT one shows up at the door, you make room for it.

I could be wrong. I'll admit it was a quick glance and I wanted to be sure the buyer knew to check before forking over a lot of money for $20 amazon junk. The difference in value is significant.

I can't see the serial but it sure looks like a 99 to me.

BUT - that hand crank looks like the cheap repro crank. If it is, it's not worth a plug nickel. Some will disagree about the quality.

Janey's advice, as always is spot on. I'd only add that $150CAD seems very steep for that particular machine. We haven't seen your exact machine, but if it were "mint", it wouldn't be partially...

Does the original controller say "electronic" on it, or do you think it's the older resistance type? I tried to find some info but sewing machine search results are so cluttered up with junk, I gave...

I went through this with a New Home a while back. Information about that lift system is very sketchy, indeed.

Oh, I see what your confusion was. You hadn't indicated the ISMACS site as one you had referenced. No biggie. People regularly mix up the 6 and 7 digit sections of the various lists, too.

I think there was a model prior to this one (Supermatic) nicknamed "Grasshopper", wasn't there? I've never paid much attention to Elnas until I blundered into this one. I think I'm going to enjoy it.

Yep, those machines should be selling at those prices, especially in sewing condition. if it weren't for that 2000 mile round trip, the 306 might be living at my house already.

    A question of value

Sewing machine values for the run of the mill machines we usually deal with are pretty much in the eye of the beholder.
