I make my own also but use 7 1/2 in strips folded...
I make my own also but use 7 1/2 in strips folded twice that way the binding won't wear out before the quilt does. i miter the corners also.

I turn the iron up a little and then scrunch up...
I turn the iron up a little and then scrunch up waxed paper and run the iron over it,keep turning and scrunching up paper. sometimes it takes quite a bit of paper but it has worked for me.

I think they would make a neat "dream weaver" quilt or wonderful in either the new or the old kaliediscope quilts.
