also, knot the end that comes off the spool helps...

also, knot the end that comes off the spool helps to keep it from knotting. Never heard of using the dryer sheet. Would that be a new one or a used one? Thanks for the tip. Annie Mae

You call it a scrappy quilt. My mother and grandmother called them "a save all" because scraps were saved from other quilts that were too small to make a square and they were sewn to paper squares...

I also think it was meant to be a table cloth or dresser scarfs as it is embroideried on linen. That is what I would do with it. Not a quilt. You could finish it with some kind of crochet lace...
