I had the same problem with a 301, a repair...
I had the same problem with a 301, a repair person suggested using a cotton ball with clove oil. I had tried some of the same things as suggested by JoannaD which were helpful.

I do all my bindings for charity quilts by machine. I always baste the corners so I don't have to hold everything down and deal with the pins while going around the corners.
