I have just made a lap quilt with the 10 minute block and it took me less than 1 1/2 hours to make 7 blocks using 10 inch squares. I consider myself a beginning quilter(have been doing for 3-4years)...

It looks great. Perhaps you could take one of the blocks in the second row that has the red in it and reposition it in the first row. That way each of the rows has a block with red in it.
