how did you sew puzzle pieces

Thank you for sharing the quilt with photos and puzzle pieces. How did you create the individual puzzle pieces and how did you make the puzzle piece border? You have done a great job!

Creative Grids makes a ruler where the 7/8" marks are solid rather than the inch lines being thicker. But I agree with the others to cut 7" blocks and trim them.
