I always wash my fabrics. If they are darks I use Clorox 2 with my detergent in the first wash. Then wash just with detergent. If it still runs color a bit give it another wash. Always works for...

"Quilter's Complete Guide" by Fons & Porter is a great book. Also Rodale's "Fast & Fun Machine Quilting. Both are full of excellent tips and ideas.

Had never used the clear threads, but by using the tips(2.5 tension and spool on the supplimentary spool pin on my Bernina) and regular thread in the bobbin, the sewing went smoothly.
