Well, back in, oh, 1983 or so, I bought a Pfaff synchrotronic 1229 on sale at a local shop for $750. A huge amount of money for me at the time, but I was at home with 4 kids and sewing most of their...

Well, to be honest, her quilting is prettier than mine. I taught her, but she perfected her technique.

Actually, I didn't choose most of them. I bought one of the BOTM kits from an online company. Now, I did substitute some fabrics that they sent that I just didn't like, and I think they sent too...

Tawny Scrawny Lion Quilt

My daughter has been quilting (YAY!!!) and has only quilting other people's tops, or whole-cloth quilts up until now. This is the first quilt she has pieced herself, and I'm really proud of her for...

Just a plain little quilt

This is a little whole-cloth quilt that my daughter just finished for one of her friends who is expecting. I thought it turned out to be really cute.

C-9, Jane's Tears

I liked doing this block, and I had been dreading it because I had never done any reverse applique. In the end, I enjoyed doing it.

C-7, Megan's Mountain Laurel

I loved doing this block, although all my points still didn't turn out the way I wanted. Very small pieces involved in the background color sides of the diamonds. I only appliqued the outer 4...

C-5, Eye of the Cyclone

I really enjoyed doing this block, and my daughter says it is her favorite so far. I redrafted, going more with Jane's original than the pattern in the book. And I am no longer afraid of...

C-4, Tic Tac Toe

This was an enjoyable block, but difficult to hand piece all those itty bitty pieces and get them straight. I finally accepted the block the way it is, instead of strive for perfection.

C-2, Streak of Lightning

This block was difficult to get straight. Of course, I'm hand piecing, using paper, pencil, scissors, needle and thread, just as Jane would have. It is a fun experiment.

B-13, Four Corner Press

Of course, on Jane's quilt, this is a piece of cheater cloth. Here it is with a bluebonnet center, a bow to my state (Texas) flower. On to Row C!

B-12, Starflower

I pieced this instead of applique. My curves must not have been exactly right, because the block was just a tad bit puffy in the middle. But it pressed out fine, so I'm not going to redo it.

B-11, Melissa's Cross

I redrafted this block, I wasn't really happy with the one in Brenda's book. To me it just didn't represent what Jane did.

B-10, Jud's Trophy

I pieced the little cross in the middle instead of applique. Itty bitty triangles!

B-9, Tinker Toy

Tried to find a fabric that was pretty close to Jane's.
