    I just finished a quilt top with an animal pattern similiar to yours. I thought of doing SITD also. I wonder if just stitching around each panel is enough? Will the stitching be too far apart then?

    My guild just had a class in making a Lone Star using "Quiltsmart" I had never made a Lonestar quilt but with this method it was very easy. You just sew on the lines.
