I bought the Stripology ruler by Creative Grids...
I bought the Stripology ruler by Creative Grids and really like it. It doesn't't slip. If you Google Stripology ruler you should find videos showing it's versatility.

I am taking Leah Day's block of the month and she recommends setting your stitch lengthy at 1.5, which makes a very tight seam so STID is not a problem. She also recommends pressing the seams open.
