I love square rulers. I have a 6.5" I use for squaring pieces and I find it invaluable. I also have a 12.5 for squaring up and this is the best ever! I have the standard 6.5x24 as well for cutting...

I used 7.5 or 8" squares, can't quite remember and sewed them up. Backed with flannel, no batting. Easy peasey. I bound it with plain navy cotton. Very durable and great for the kids to drag around.

Free motion quilting

What is the best stitch length to use when FMQing? I am just beginning. I have been practicing and it seems a smaller stitch length works good but I would like some advice.
