Just picked up one of these. Serviced she sure is quiet. The numbers around the stitch length are gone. Looks like a glued on dial. Any ideas where to get one?

When I turn the handwheel the knurled wheel that selects zig zag or blind stitch turns with it. That doesn't seem right. Maybe a clue to the stiffness as it is in the horizontal shaft.

Fighting a stiff singer stylist 457. It's in the top horizontal shaft. Anyone have operators and or service manual. I am truly stumped. Or advice. Any will be warmly received.

Wonder if is rusted on. Taking the screw out normally gets them off. Maybe a little spray. Evaporust does the trick. I haven't used it yet but I'm sure I eventually will.

I replaced the tension assy. For a customer but check spring is too tight. Do you loosen it by turning the entire assy. To the left and re- tighten ser screw?
