I had the carpenter trim out my kitchen...

I had the carpenter trim out my kitchen (http://www.thertastore.com) window with a space behind the molding for me to nest in a tension rod, so the woodwork becomes the header for my balloon valance.

I would clean, lightly sand and wipe on padding...

I would clean, lightly sand and wipe on padding shellac to bring back the luster.
