Well, remember, these machines were not designed for industrial use or for use with industrial type, heavy threads. My 319 doesn't make the noise you describe, but I'm not trying to feed it anything...

Thinking good thoughts for you... Maybe a different machines needle clamp was switched out on yours? Both of my 319's had the same exact clamp system.

When you remove the clamp, there is a tiny piece...
When you remove the clamp, there is a tiny piece inside. Note the location and orientation of the piece because it fits back in as is!
