thanks everyone. It's working out great! I did swap out one of the cubes for one that works better in that space.
The size of the part with the cubes is about 60" long and about 14.5" wide....

It's on wheels so I can easily move it away when I need to. The wheels lock so wherever I want it, it will stay.

Also the top is a "floating top" type of thing....
Also the top is a "floating top" type of thing. It's not secured down but there's a frame of wood on it to keep it from sliding on the base.
