Opalstar, once you take off the stop motion clutch wheel off you will find the weird lock washer between it and the handwheel. make sure you keep track of which side faces which wheel.

What you are looking for is called a friction drive wheel. That should take care of using it one handed. and yes the bobbin tire would be useful also. Welcome to the board.
