If you're not a business, you can't buy it from Brewer, but your local shop can get it for you.

I just checked, and you can still get them from Brewer. It says they are "In Stock." I'd be careful getting them from somewhere else. There are some pretty bad "knock-off" gears out there.

The vertical shaft gear can be replaced. The retail on that gear is $71.90, part #316.002.03 from Brewer Sewing Supply.

It's a great machine!
