Has anyone made a quilt with embroidered blocks from muslin? I use muslin for backing and just love the texture, the feel, and simplicity of it.

I have a Brother SE400. Although it lists software upgrades and large hoop sizes fit it, it will only go to about 3.5" max. Someone one the Brother board suggested I do my embroidery picture in half....
