NOPE don't pull it out. They are a pain to put back together. You can pull it part way out and clean the threads. If you oil it it will oil the works when you get it back in.

Google search 'sewing machine timing instructions' then go into 'video' a bunch should come up. I do not know if http://www.tfsr.org/ has anything on timing or not - I've not looked.

If you find mitred corners tricky when binding a quilt, this method may be the answer for you. No fancy gadgets needed - just hairgrips...

Muv, I love to get those beautiful machines too. They just cost too much.... However there is a whole lot of satisfaction in getting one that is sort of messed up but not totally gone and reviving it.
