Sanding it down? you would get to a point of no return real soon. I think it can be patched. There no doubt would be some Utube video out there.

I don't know what it has to do with. It is very cool. I have a Singer 15 with black chrome but it was rusty. The 201 is beautiful.

It doesn't show up well in photos - it is just chrome but it looks black. In a photo it looks like chrome.

I think the veneer is coming off the side of mine and I don't remember if the inkwell is there any more or not.
