As for the applique'...if you don't have an applique' stitch on your machine, use the zigzag and narrow the stitch length to what ever...

Applique"

I love to applique'. Most of my quilts are applique'. I do all mine by machine. I use either a satin stitch or a blanket stitch, depending on the pattern. I have sold most of my appliqued quilts...
