You are so right. I worked on them over the last month using "the production line method" i.e. all the cutting was done, then the joining of the strips, quilting etc.

They are "birthed", hand stitched the opening...

They are "birthed", hand stitched the opening closed, then machined all the way around a 1/4" from the edge.

I should have said that they are hot pads and...

I should have said that they are hot pads and they are approx 8" in length with a 3" brown "stalk" for hanging. For the template I just "googled" simple apple and pear colouring in shapes.

I have decided that this year is the "year of the small item" and in keeping with that theme I made a start on using up some scraps and this is the result.
