In the corner of your picture I can see the knob for lowering the feeddogs. This knob was not used one the old black Singers. It was used on the ones from China and Tiawan from the 70s & 80s.

I have for years dropped a small stainless steel bolt into all of my Tri-Flow bottles. It really helps with the mixing.
A clean pebble will work the same.

You asked about the knob on the right of the ZZ knob. On yours that knob does lock in the width. It doesn't more the knob, only locks it. Try moving and holding the ZZ lever in position...
