I actually measured the boards and they're 8 x 12. I marked one of the Dollar General boards so you can see how I cut them. I don't normally mark them like that, I just make a pencil tick mark...

I cut mine about 8.5 x 11. I make my first cut length wise of the board and cut off about 8.5 inches and then I cut two boards from that section. I cut three 8.5 inch widths from the other piece...
