Oh yeah, I gave up on the heavy thread thing, and put it all back , the went through and adjusted the feed and needle timing as per the service manual, to correct some stitch skipping I was getting...

I have messed with that finger to no avail ( way more than I should have really, trying to get it set to work with very heavy thread) still just a slight rattle, nothing bad , but not silent either....

Not a Quilter and have yet to make my First stitch with my new ( to me) 306W BUT.... from what I have read, tension problems are very Common with 306/319 series machines that people have messed...
