I have seen these in Aldi here, but do wonder about the quality for such a low price. I would be interested to hear how it washes and what the shrinkage is like.

I have been spray basting all my quilts recently as it washes out. I would still use it in a wall hanging as I find it easier to hand quilt without pins and threads.

I think the thickness of the thread also makes a difference. I use Superior's Bottom Line thread in the bobbin and find it makes a difference.

I would guess this works because the frame holds the quilt rigid while you baste. The actual hand quilting will take up any slack there might be. I will have to get my son to make me a quilt...
