It depends. If I'm comfortable with the piece, I try to chain stitch all of them at once for consistency. If it is a difficult piece to me, then 10 at ta time.

I'm with you. I would much rather sew big, cut down, and have a nice looking unit rather than try for exact accuracy and end up sewing more units than I need just to get enough units that are good...

FWIW, when using sheets, get good quality high thread count cotton. Microfiber and the cotton/poly blends as well as those with lower thread count tend to pill quickly and not last as long.

I have a Janome 3160Q. Not sure if it is the same machine you are referring to. I love it but I only piece on it. Not sure about the pressure foot space. Throat space is small for quilting.

i also like to starch my fabric before starting a project or cutting. When my fabric gets wrinkly from starch, I just steam iron it. It's usually a big enough piece that I don't mind steaming it...
