I have been using mine right on the table beside my sewing machine....no problem at all. As QuiltE stated, the mat should be thick enough AND IT IS. Love it!

Thank you. I colored all the snowmen with white crayon first, then used the other colors over the white. Next you put a paper towel over the coloring and press with hot, dry iron to set the colors....
