OP, I think you said you have a front loader washing machine. This is one of the disadvantages of front loading machines, it is hard to get a really good soak cycle from them.

I agree with Sephie, it adds charm to the quilt. If this fabric was only used on the butterfly wings, I would add a layer of find tulle, but otherwise leave it as is.

Murphy, I use the low and slow method to cook Prime Rib. It is not conducive to great roast spuds, but I get a great au jus and beautifully tender rare meat this way.
