I love the diagonal lines through the blocks. I think it really emphasizes the bargello pattern the best. Yes, you do have to turn in the centers of blocks - at least that's the way I did mine.

I love my mini wonder clips. What size for binding? I would say that depends on what size binding you prefer. I generally do very narrow binding - 1/4" on each side - so the mini clips work great....
