I had a similar one from Quiltedtwins, but it has softened with handling. It's a queen/king so it has been handled a lot. I'm not concerned about it on the bed at all, if it ever gets there.

Update: I'm FMQ now with my 404 and it's doing a good job. The horizontal bobbin is doing well. If it finishes this king size quilt, it will be worth the $5 I paid for it.

I think it would good if each solid rectangle were framed by the same fabric. That would take some planning as it's the strips that frame the rectangle. I'd have to use my design wall to lay it out.
