I practice on a pair of 10” squares of fabric...

I practice on a pair of 10” squares of fabric with cotton batting in between. Then trim to 9” bind & donate potholders to the food pantry. They’re wildly popular.

UPDATE: I made another batch yesterday and cut oil down to 1/4 cup. Success - so I’m doing that from now on.

My quilt cabinet ($30 from a thrift shop) is almost identical, except I chalk painted mine oatmeal color then distressed it.
I’ve seen gun cabinets redone for quilts too.

Agree. I’ve heard of new brand name glass baking dishes breaking in the oven because the products used to manufacture them are inferior. Now imagine, if you will, cleaning up that mess.
