I just used yellow head straight pins (the big long thick ones) to pin my felt to the foam board. I used T-pins to attach the foam board to my wall. The pins make small holes in sheet rock.

I do the same thing except I sort mine into color groups and don't lay them on their sides but upright if that makes sense. I use Sterilite 6 qt plastic containers to store them in.
