I have a sumbeam iron I have had for about I don't know maybe 10 years, got it at bi-mart. my iron board is a pocket door with 1 layer of batting and 1 layer of musilin. I but it over table or cutting table. works great. my hubby got me a black and decker iron about 2 months ago, because it shuts off, because I forget all the time, but if your not using it, it shuts off in 8 minutes. It heats back up in 90 secounds, but it is a pain for me. God bless Penny
