Last year I discovered Superior Masterpiece thread. I love it and now use it for all my piecing. The 3,000 yard spool seemed so expensive at about $25.00 but after a year of sewing I still have about a third of it left. I bought the off-white and can use it for most of my piecing. What I love about it is so little to no lint and the stitching is perfect. Some of the other threads I've used seem to be too thick and my stitches aren't as nice. I just invested in a couple of other colors for darker fabric. I know I'll not run out of thread for a very long time. It's worth every penny. My Bernina loves it. Now what to do with all the other threads I've bought over the past 6 years of quilting. I'm spoiled now.
