DOLL QUILT SWAP GUIDELINES

SIZE: from 12"x12" to 24"x24" or any size or shape in between.

MATERIALS: natural fibers/cotton, wool, linen.

EMBELLISHMENTS: if you want to use them, feel free. Beads, rickrack, buttons, doilies, ribbon, lace; anything or nothing at all.

CONSTRUCTION: Pieced, appliqued, wholecloth, or yo-yos; quilted by hand or machine; and bound.

LABEL: It is recommended that you attach a label to the back of your quilt. A label is a nice addition to any handmade quilt. Whether or not you decide to label your quilt, please do include a note with your quilt with your quilting board name, real name and contact information (snail mail address and/or email address, etc. so that they can thank you). And I probably don't have to say this, but when you receive something, please thank the sender. Pictures are the best part of these swaps, so post pictures! If you are unable, ask your partner to do so. Chances are, one of you has a digital camera. We wanna see!

PARTNERS: You will be paired with a partner for this swap. You will make a quilt for your partner and your partner makes one for you. Please be considerate and let your partner know if you will be late mailing or if you run into any other problems.

DUE DATE: The deadline for all quilts to be sent is June 30, 2010.

COMMUNICATION: If for any reason you cannot meet the deadline or you need to drop out of this swap, please let me know as soon as you know. If you communicate any setbacks with me I can make sure things work out favorably for your partner, no hard feelings. If you drop out at the last minute or do not send a quilt you're going to get a mom lecture from me. I have teenagers. I'm very good at mom lectures. I understand life, but we can all fit in things. If you can't just let me know. We have angels amongst us that will fill in for you. Let's not disappoint anyone, okay? If you have a busy month this month, join us next month.

SIGN UP: Sign up begins today and ends May 30, 2010. I'll assign partners after that date.

If you would like to sign up, you can respond to this thread or PM me. Please let me know if you are willing to send internationally as we have several members outside of the US.

My needless academy speech: Thank you to all the veterans that have stuck with this swap for over a year. I love you guys! You stuck with me and gave me support. Some of you even listened to me whine. I love having new people too. And my angels. I love you angels! Thanks for sending quilts to swappers who got shafted. And to those who received quilts and never sent one in return, just remember, karma can bite you in the butt. Why you would pick a doll quilt swap to screw up your karma, I'll never know! Maybe your life just rolls that way. If that's the case, then I send you vibes to fix whatever it is you've broken. Work on it, you can do it.

Long live the doll quilt quilt swap!
