I was in Europe and my backpack strap was coming apart. It was a new high quality small delivery type pack with only one strap. I usually keep a hotel kit with me, but didn't have it this time. So I found a fabric store, bought needles, heavy thread, and thimble. (once a quilter, I rarely sew without a thimble!). A fabric store was my "must find" that day in some small town, so I could repair the bag. By the way I have used the bag on many more trips.... No more sewing has been needed.
