Durham Quilts, also called North Country Quilts are a special style of wholecloth and strippy quilts from the Northern part of UK (county Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria). They were very famous especially during the 18th and 19th century and the quilters used special quilting patterns like feathers, scissors and rose and arranged them in a typical style. I love this style of traditional wholecloths very much (the Welsh style as well) and in the design for my own quilts I often use the North Country and Welsh patterns.
