I used to help my grandma tie quilts which she had sewn from fortrel fabric or wool clothing. I still have them and they are 40+ years old and other than the occaisionally one coming undone, they are still beautiful and useful quilts. I wish I had her quilt frame and I would tie the one every once in a while. They are old-fashioned but it brings back many wonderful memories of her.
