I love all the ideas - today I will (hopefully! as long as my "stuff" gets done...) start playing around with them and get quilting. I am especially drawn to the idea of something circular to counteract the linear nature of the quilt. Might be interesting. I do have variegated thread, too, so I will play with that.
I'm glad someone else found the pattern - but I found it in McCalls' Quilting mag, August 2007. The pattern was called Trading Patches, and it was featured on the cover. I never noticed the cover before today!! But I'm glad I did, bc it showed how they quilted it - feathers radiating out from each lattice cross, into the squares created. Another good idea, though I've never made feathers. I will post pics when it is done!
