Wood and paper (including tissue paper) contain acid that can eat into quilts, discoloring them. As someone else mentioned, use acid-free paper. This is sold also as "archival quality", and can be found in paper boxes, regular paper, and tissue paper. Amazon probably has it.

Other options are to polyurethane the wood or use musline to cover the shelves.
