Setting the record straight is always a good thing, I think...

Connecting Threads cotton (like half the cotton in the industry) is indeed grown in the USA. The USA is one of the leading producers of cotton in the world. However, CT's fabric is woven and their printing is done overseas.

So really, the claim that this is a totally USA operation that some like to claim, is not correct. CT doesn't even claim it on their website. They make a big deal out of the fact that their cotton is USA grown, but if you look on their pages you'll find these statements...

Our Manufacturing Partners

Connecting Threads has very high standards for the International manufacturers we choose to work with. Executives from Connecting Threads have visited each of our manufacturers' factories personally to ensure that their facilities and labor practices are in line with both Connecting Threads' and our customers' expectations. Specifically, Connecting Threads works only with manufacturers who:

* Institute management practices that respect the rights of all employees
* Provide a safe and healthy work place
* Promote the health and well-being of all employees
* Oppose the use of child labor
* Have an active role in the positive development of their local community
And in another place...

We not only have high standards for our products, we have very high standards for the International manufacturers we choose to work with. Bob, Karen or Teri have visited each of our manufacturers’ factories personally to ensure that their facilities and labor practices are in line with both Connecting Threads’ and our customers’ expectations.
The misunderstanding of where the fabrics are woven and printed is basic mis-direction. If one proclaims loudly that part of their process is all-USA, some will assume all of their process, even though they never claimed it. And they're very happy to let people assume that.

If their fabric meets your needs and you're satisfied with it, then you should buy it and use it.

Just don't buy it because you're under the false impression that it's an all-USA made product.
