I had the surgery & I am glad I did ... I went to a plastic surgeon they seems to do a wonderful job no scars , no pain, I had both hands done best thing I ever did with as much sewing, quilting & embroidery work that I do. Just remember to do the exsercise the dr. tells you to do even if you fell better. Happy quilting
